Reno, a performance artist in New York City, is pissed off. She lives downtown in what used to be a quiet, inexpensive artist’s neighborhood, and is now being very noisily built into a multimillion dollar condo paradise for lawyers. She has suspicions that the city garbage trucks are dumping the recycling into the same pile as everything else. There are issues with tourists, dog-intolerance, traffic, science, politics, human behavior, civilization itself. Reno is a vigilante armed to the teeth with a barrage of words that she brings right into the face of anyone who has something to do with anything that’s just wrong.

It’s difficult being a person. There are all manner of fears, procrastinations and confusions that can ruin your life. That’s why there are comedians, to help you overcome your incompetence in buying a car, your terror of having your feet touched, to help you find the strength to accept your accelerating baldness or be man enough to discuss what might be just right for your wife in a lingerie store. Seasoned in complex human interactions, our stable of America’s finest comedians tackled the little things that make humanity miserable.

Nearly everyone has a longing, or at the very least a chronic curiosity about someone who once mattered and then fell off the radar. It could be an ex-lover, a childhood friend, a war buddy. In the case of filmmaker Albert Maysles, it was a woman he barely knew in high school. Decades later couldn’t forget the beauty in her eyes, and why this image lingered was a mystery to him. His fantasy was to meet her on a train. So we set our detectives loose and found her, and meet on the train they did, resulting in an unforgettable experience for both of them, and a fascinating portal into two compelling life stories.

Lost & Found was a critically-acclaimed series that ran for three years.

A man is left alone in a field as his date runs off with a hot-air balloonist.

Rosanne and Tom Arnold become unpleasant when I ask them about their experience of fame.

Over the course of an hour of music videos, I would show up in between and talk to people in a particular place or about a particular thing. It could be research into why people like to travel, but mostly hate to take local transportation, or a visit to a crowd of 3000 playing million dollar bingo at a Native American reservation, or a look at the nature of competition at the Winter Olympics in France, or an inquiry into the nature of fame at the Grammys.

Action Pack

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER - DIRECTOR

Matt McCarthy and Nick Stevens are The Action Pack. They hang out chronically doing all manner of things that people do; they get haircuts, do laundry, play sports, eat, walk, shop or get a carwash. But no matter what they’re doing, they talk about action movies. Arguably, they are experts, but without question, they are passionate. Once they even travelled to LA to learn to become action heroes with military, flight and martial arts training, but ended up running a bus tour that visited action movie locations. You can see them in short bursts between the breaks of, coincidentally, action movies, Wednesday nights at 8 on AMC or at amctv.com.
